PSA 10 Charizard Pokemon Card Rare Base Set Pokemon Card
PSA 10 Charizard Pokemon Card Rare Base Set Pokemon Card
Price: $121.98
Charizard from the Base Set. Holo rare, locked in a PSA 10 slab. This one’s the fire-breathing beast that started it all for so many collectors.
The artwork shows Charizard mid-roar, wings spread wide with flames bursting out. That intense stare and dynamic pose just pull you in, like it’s about to scorch the battlefield.
On the card text: Fire type, 120 HP. Pokémon Power is Energy Burn—treat all attached Energy as Fire Energy. Attack is Fire Spin: discard two Energy cards for 100 damage. Weak to Water, resists Fighting. Solid setup for a Stage 2 evolution from Charmeleon.
Base Set dropped in 1999, the original English release that kicked off the TCG craze in the West. This printing stands out because it’s the unlimited version most folks chased back then, with that classic holo foil that shimmers under light. No shadows or unlimited stamps like later sets, just pure nostalgic vibes from the early days when Pokémon was exploding everywhere. It’s the card that defined powerhouses in decks, often the finisher in fire builds against grass or bug types.
For the slab, PSA 10 means gem mint perfection—edges sharp as a Razor Leaf, corners without a ding, surface clean and glossy. Centering’s usually spot-on for these, maybe 50/50 or better to hit that grade, and the eye appeal comes from that swirling holo pattern that pops in the case. Pop reports put PSA 10s for this Charizard around 120 or so, based on what I’ve seen floating around collector circles. Rare enough that you don’t trip over them at every show.
I’d stash this one in a display case right by my desk, just to glance at during late-night pack openings.
