Venusaur from the Base Set, holographic rare, sitting pretty in a PSA 10 Gem Mint slab. Number 15 out of 102. This one’s the final evolution of Bulbasaur, all bulked up and ready to rumble.
The artwork by Mitsuhiro Arita shows Venusaur in a fierce stance, flower blooming massive on its back, with those red eyes glaring out. It’s got that classic 90s vibe, simple lines but loads of personality. You can almost feel the ground shake.
On the card text, it’s a Grass-type Stage 2 with 100 HP. No Ability here, but the attack is Solarbeam—60 damage for four Energy, and it discards two to charge up. Straightforward powerhouse move that defined early decks. Weak to Fire, resists nothing, retreat cost of two.
