Venusaur EX Full Art from the XY base set, card number 141/146, holo rarity, in light play raw condition. This one’s got that classic full art treatment with Venusaur looming large in a lush forest scene, vines twisting everywhere and the holo foil popping under any angle of light. It’s a Grass-type Basic Pokémon EX with 180 HP. Ability is Energy Bloom, which lets you heal 20 damage from each of your Pokémon that have Grass Energy attached, once during your turn. Attacks include Poison Powder for 60 damage that poisons the defending Pokémon, and Jungle Hammer for 90 damage that also heals 30 from this Pokémon. Pretty solid for building around Grass decks back in the day.

The XY set dropped in 2014, kicking off the XY era with a mix of Kalos Pokémon and some throwbacks. This Venusaur EX was one of the chase cards, especially the full art version, printed on that standard holo stock from the time. Common quirks in raw copies include centering that’s often a bit off on the borders, maybe 60/40 or so, and the holo sheet can show minor scratches if it’s been handled without sleeves. Edges might have slight whitening from shuffling, but nothing too wild. In this light play state, expect some surface wear like faint scratches on the holo, especially where the light reflects strongest on Venusaur’s bulb and petals. Corners are rounded just a touch from play, not sharp like pack-fresh, and the back shows minimal scuffing. The foil still has that nice flash when you tilt it, catching greens and blues in the artwork without any major dents or creases. Overall, it’s held up decently for a card that’s seen some battles.

Sometimes these old EX cards just sit in a binder, waiting for the right deck to shine again.
